Every time I change a set of brake pads, I wish I had one of those handy little tools to wind the piston back (rather than struggling with spanners and G Clamps). This was esepcially true yesterday, whilst changing pads on the Jag.
With a little time on my hands today (waiting for BT to try and sort out the mess they have made of my Broadband migration) I decided to have a go at making my own Piston retract tool.
I used an old brake disc (appropriate) for the flat sections (not sure what the techical term would be). Drilled and tapped a M10 hole for the treaded bar and then ran a drill, tap and length of M6 threaded bar through this for the handle.
Quite pleased with how it's turned out - can't wait to change another set of pads and see how it works.
