I should think the UPS is on a contract - I would doubt whether "Joe Bloggs" would get that rate for a few parcelsIf its any help mine was shipped UPS 2-day service for £8.50+VAT (although it actually turned up the next day).
Otherwise, Royal Mail Standard Parcels (with insurance) for 5kg costs about £12, but may take up to 3 days.
Hi Mikey - I'm only at Minsterley - so might even be able to drop it off sometime...so fingers crossed we've not missed the boat ?id be up for one if you can get them for the reduced rate , able to collect too which part of our fine county are you from ?

I take it that's the new weight measurement euro-standard ? - I like it - everyone should be able to use that easily enough - nice to see a little common sense in these new regulations ?It is most certainly portable! Its just over 4 sugar bags heavy,
Yes - I use E / K for my Portapack kit - I think maybe disposables if it needs to be ultra portable - and not much weld time needed...If you want portability AND TIG then you could go with a smaller bottle, like a BOC 'E'.
I'm pushing to introduce two new units of volume - the 'gulp' and its subunit the 'sip'. And for time - the 'yawn' and its multiple 'nap'. I've yet to work out how many 'sips' per 'gulp' and how many 'yawns' per 'nap' though.I take it that's the new weight measurement euro-standard ? - I like it - everyone should be able to use that easily enough - nice to see a little common sense in these new regulations ?
Easy! According to the BOC website an 'E' is 7 sugarbags and a 'K' is 75 sugarbags. I think the contents of a disposable cylinder would be measured in sugarcubesYes - I use E / K for my Portapack kit - I think maybe disposables if it needs to be ultra portable - and not much weld time needed...
How many sugarbags does an E / K cylinder weigh though ?
Good to see such educated, creative thinking going on - there should be much more of it.I'm pushing to introduce two new units of volume - the 'gulp' and its subunit the 'sip'. Not sure there - I think you might have that confused with Sugarbabes ?contents of a disposable cylinder would be measured in sugarcubes
Bringing this thread back on topic for a moment - I notice that the heatsinks in my little welder are plain aluminium, rather than black anodised. Considering that black anodised surface has better heat dissipation (aprrox. 30% better) I wonder why they chose to use the ones they did. For example, if I swapped in black anodised heatsinks then I might get 100% use at the full 140A rather than at 100A.
Ill be very impressed if you do over heat it.
