Haynes Manuals

Much to my amazement, my new to me 2016 Dodge Challenger (as well as being RWD) had a Haynes manual for up to 2018 versions!

I seem to recall they used to be expensive at a fiver in Halfords when I was a student last century . . .

A complete must have in the mid to late 70,s if you owned a Ford Capri ..think i have owned about 10 being a Ford man so i could fit these blindfolded while drinking a warm can of larger.

There's a few chuckles over the Autoplas louvres but many in Capri circles still like them and they do sell. I think there were variants, some even allowing retention of the rear wiper function!

I have thought of something .. Wolf whistles. !!!! It was a red trumpet thing with a plastic tube that you had to drill a hole in the manifold then push the tube over it.Next you had a bit of string that went through the bulkhead into the car. Then if you wanted to whistle at someone you pulled the string lol.Used to work well on the old Ford 100e with a air tank..Oh yea then came the Air Horns a few years later.

"Cut Outs", (bypass) welded in the exhaust pipes just ahead of the mufflers. Pull a lever inside the driver compartment and a butterfly diverts the exhaust to a straight pipe that lets everyone within a mile hear when your arriving.

A kid I worked with fitted rear hanger extensions to his gold Capri, 2 days later he went through a hedge coming to work and wrote it off. They didn't sell shocker extensions to go with them so he left them off.
I was looking round the shed the other day and found a Halfords front grill blind for the Mini with panels to open and let air in. This chap might be safer if he fitted a door

Don't know about Jags. Way out of my price range when I was younger. Most of the cars in my era had V-8's, which we supped up as best we could.

Being into minis I was spoilt for choice with available accessories but naturally all my mods were tasteful!
Alloys, arches, spotlights, air horns, all black bumpers etc changed for chrome. Stage 1 inlet and lcb exhaust manifold, straight through 2" exhaust, happy days!
