Hotpoint Tumble Dryer Repair

Hotpoint tumble dryer refused to turn on or do anything at all. Checked fuse fine.

Looking online they suggest these thermostats being toast will stop the machine from turning on.

I've just put the meter across them and they've all got continuity.

Which only leaves the PCB board.

Anyone had much joy with these or are they throwaway?

Model is a TCFS93BGP(UK)
Aquarius condenser dryer.

If its a condensor there is a drain or a tank? blocked pipe ? Float switch?

I begged SWMBO not to buy the pos Hotpoint WMD960 wm we have. Pay a fortune for cover and they have to come out twice a year. One time the engineer needed to borrow a grinder here! It's like Trigger's Broom now but still a noisy, badly balanced waste of space.

In the interests of Self Sufficiency I (yesterday) bought a pair of Cambridge Audio Bluetooth earbuds "Made in UK". They are going back today. Shocking sound quality, really bad, intermittent everything including connectivity. Sadly my preference from another UK manufacturer are a bit out of reach financially:

Are they genuine? Might be worth a nicely worded email direct to Cambridge Audio on the lines of:

"Good morning, I recently purchased a pair of (whatever) via Amazon. A big plus were these being Made In England. Sadly the quality and connectivity was appalling, so bad I have to wonder whether I'd bought counterfeit goods?

I just thought I should let you know. I am now looking at Sony pair What Hi-Fi reccomends and will be returning the Cambridge Audio items".

Give them a chance to send you a complimentary pair!

They have excellent reviews and my brother has a pair and says they are much better than the Sonys he had before.
Perhaps yours were faulty or as already mentioned possibly fakes. It is incredible what goes on with online buying these days - even with the likes of Amazon etc.

And for the record my washing machine is a Hotpoint and still fine after 20 years. My Hotpoint tumble drier is about 10 years old and works very well. I have a traditional vented type though - never found condensers to be much good.

Slightly different machine. No thermostat to the left of the elements. Just the two above the elements.

That's almost an identical model to the one I'm currently trying to diagnose an issue with.

I don't think the stats will prevent it turning on, more likely it will give a heating error when trying to heat. Not there are two thermal cutouts and and thermistor. Use a DVM to check continuity of the cutouts and operation of the thermistor.
Check continuity of individual heating elements (24R). There's also another thermistor at front of drum.

I'm not sure, but I think some of those round things may be non resettable.

I spent ages with an intermittent fault on ours. Eventually traced to a flakey relay on the control board.

Ours would spin but the heater would be intermittent though.
