Karcher pressure washer woes

Has anyone successfully stopped a karcher k2 from leaking oil? I've replaced the piston oil seals on ours as well as the o ring that seals the piston plate to the swash plate housing and it still seems to be weeping out of the oil seals. I'm contemplating replacing the oil with grease. Anyone had any success fixing an oil leak on one of these?

are the pistons not worn ?

if you run hot water through it, you get capitation (air bubbles) and it eats through the pistons :-(

The Pistons looked fine to me. There seems to be a fair separation between the water seals and oil seals on these Pistons so I'm not sure the same part of the piston would enter in to both the oil and water sides. Could be wrong of course.
Also it's not very old and had little use. There's a lot on the net about these things leaking oil when new!

Trouble is I'm a bit tight so it's either fix it or buy another cheapie. Got to agree about buying low priced stuff though.
Might just put grease in it instead of oil and see how long it lasts. Probably about a minute.

that is why i gave up on karcher and went to lidl 3yer warenty for the same money

I've got a spare k2 that's yours if you want it. Not sure what's up with it but basically it pulses when the triggers not pulled. Seems to work fine once trigger pulled. I bought a k4 to replace it. My dads got a karcher that must be almost 20 years old. Don't think they are made like that these days!

Being shipped built etc for about £20 its just a cheap swash plate pump so it will leak a bit

When my Karcher stopped working I stripped down and found pistons as well as seals needed replacing. As Roofman says - dropped it in the bin and bought a Lidl version which is actually a higher spec and made by Karcher !

Hate to sound a machine snob here as anyone who knows me knows ime not but those modern day Karcher machines are a million miles from Karcher of old..buy a Cheapy as stated above for less money and same internals...For me its got to be a second hand item but fitted with a Cat pump or interpump coupled up to a decent induction motor or a petrol...(Handy hint time) go rooting about Eblag for a knacked steam cleaner or industrial washer that has the case rotted out,it will certantly have a Cat pump (the pump with 9 lives) and all the dumping valve assembly which makes a cold washer you will never wear out

Been to B&Q today. They have Karcher K2 on offer - reduced from £98 to £60.

If you're going to try using grease then how about semi fluid grease? That'll probably be the best choice for lubrication without leaks.

ha ha i think mine aint so bad it leaks water inside somewhere something has broken i think easy fix for me
