Paraffin space heater

Just wondering if anyone here can advise me about how good or bad a diesel/ paraffin space heater is for the workshop please? I didn't like the propane one I had.

I recently bought one to dry out the mancave prior to painting, If its big enough to actually heat the place the fumes will kill you and if its too small the noise will do your head in.

They say equal amounts of water out for fuel in. Don't know how true that is.

The fumes off diesel ones give me headaches and a sore throat. Propane ones no problems.

i had one, around 3 feet long but it heated a railway arch to a reasonable temp in the time it took me to make and drink a cup of tea in the morning. didnt have too much of a problem with fumes, i burnt diesel / petrol mix from wrongly fueled vehicles

About 30ft x 12ft.
Propane one made my eyes sting and gave off so much moisture it rusted everything in the shed.

I had an Andrews diesel heater, warmed up an 1100 sq ft workshop no problem, never had a problem with moisture or fumes, if you do get bad smells it probably needs servicing, gave mine away to another workshop when I closed the place

How high is the roof?
I run a kerosene inverter heater 4.6kw in a room that size.
You need a bit of ventilation. I have a window open a tad.
Tank holds 7L lasts 10 hours flat out.
Very nice heat no fumes.
Cheap to run on standard low sulphur kerosene. No need to buy expensive paraffin.

Very quiet running.
4p per kw for kero v 17p per kw electric.
Just wish I knew about them when I had our old farmhouse.
Fuel tank can be removed and filled whilst still running.
They only smell at startup and shut down so I whack the temp up high to stop it cycling. If it gets too warm I put it on minimum.
I service it perhaps twice a year. Very easy.

That’s about it really.

If you are in the heat ‘cone’ it rips your skin off. If you are 1mm outside the cone you’re cold.

they are not good. If your workshop is big enough you’re better off with a waste oil burner.

Yes I sorta remember his review on the chinese diesel heater, I have been thinking about having one.

nuff said noisy costs a lot to run and stinks
