Hello all,
I'm currently on a jack up drilling rig in a Rotterdam shipyard, the shipyard platers and welders have been busy fitting new lifeboat platforms on the upper decks to comply with new regulations at our next drilling location.
I managed to get a few blurry snaps when there was a break in the hot works when we were transferring fuel between tanks. I thought that it may be of interest to post these pics so folks can take a look at some larger scale welding jobs.
The platform weighs about 90t and was lifted into position with the "matador2" 400t floating crane.
All of the sets that are currently being used are fronious wire feeder units. Il try and get a few more snaps of the job tonight when I go back on shift.
