OK....our internet is practically useless and getting worse....the whole system is overloaded and expensive.....
more n more new customers means slower service......
we run two different internet suppliers because of the above.....

Question.....
Strongly considering Starlink but I need an internet supply 250m away from the house in the work shop.....not for games... just music and a little research.....
is there anyway I can run a cable and booster to give internet at the w/shop......
the cost to get hooked up is nearly 400euros for the kit and 40euros rent per month.....
I could if I have too pay 2 x's rent but anther 400euros for the second kit is a killer.....
anyone done this over that distance or longer....Ta....

There are several point to point wireless solutions, up to about 1.6km and 2Gb. So you could extend your network without cable. 250m is also within reach of multimode fibre, so a switch at both ends with an SFP port, OM2 or better multimode fibre and a 1Gb optic at either end and your done.

Our Internet was dire here so got starlink. I had to run the starlink router in bypass mode and on to my own router with more ports as my starlink only had one from memory, but in bypass you have more flexibility. 250m is a fair distance to workshop ive never had to run anything that far but you can get wifi point to point links by ubiquiti and such like that should do the job if you have reasonable lines of site I'd think.

Simple point to point, no need for cables and at that range it's going to be in effected by bad weather short of a direct lightning strike

250m is doable.
Point to Point (aka a wireless bridge) setup would handle that, as long as there's line of sight.
Fibre would be doable in a single run.
Ethernet theoretically can manage ~100m in a single run, but I've gone further, however I suspect 250m would be pushing it, and would probably need a switch or two to make the distance.

We use BT at the moment but it’s not very reliable turned. Wife’s pal has a 4/5g router, at their house and it’s fast. We bought one but it’s pants where we are, no faster than BT. Looked into star link but the £75 a month puts me off. The basic fitting kit can be added to, different brackets longer cables that sort of thing but it all comes at a cost

That's the route I went. The stone walls & trees here impede reception somewhat, but trying different antenna & their location relative to the router helps.
