Here's the pics for my hand held English Wheel, use it to planish welds on panels too big to fit under the full size wheel.
Its got a 600mm reach and is made from 40*3 box.
The anvil holders rotate so that you can use it forward/backward or side to side.
It's pretty heavy so i can only use it for around 10 minutes before I need a break.
It works really well on 1.5mm aluminium, haven't tried it on steel.
It will crown a panel slowly on the longest pivot point but planishes really well. Changing the pivot point increases the pressure available but decreases the reach.
Top anvil is flat, I have one each in steel and plastic (Acetal I think).
I have made a selection of bottom anvils in steel and plastic, a really good one is the high crown anvil made from a tractor 3 point linkage ball, £5 from agricultural merchants, they are case hardened so a bit of a chore to bore out.
Lathe used for the anvils and pillar drill for holes, all the holes through the box are reinforced with tube.
Any questions, dimensions just ask.
Close up of anvils and holders.
Anvil centre to furthest pivot point is 600mm.
All the component parts
Close up of Pivot.
Adjuster slots.
Adjuster is M12 threaded rod.
