Think its fair to say that they have been left with a yard full of cylinders due to folk getting wise to their tactics over the years.

Also what happens after the year is up?

If we had an advert this size on the forum I would certainly expect to be paying for it too :rolleyes:

Pic has been removed for that reason and also due to the fact that BOC are very strict about copyright

Just trying to help people out with ideas for getting bigger gas and not use disposables.
I'll think twice before mentioning any other offer that may or may not help users.

i think a link is still helpful. Also the suggestion that you only have to mention volkszone for the enormous one year only discount and don't actually need to be a member over there. Careful not to renew after the first year though! £60 -> £150 (plus VAT, collection etc presumably).

I've got a size Y Argon bottle sitting in the garage, completely full. Tempted to take it back to BOC as it's cost me £100 to have it sat there for a year. Soon as I do I'll get all enthusiastic about TIG again.

i took full advantage of this offer today £60 for the years rental and £25 per refill... even better if you keep it for a second year as the rent goes to £35!!! plus the first fill of the bottle is thrown in with the £60!!! did it all over the phone then went to collect my bottle!!!

yes they told me over the phone and confirmed it this morning with my boc dealer in derby.

says normal price of 140????/ i just got a argoshield light out and 68 rental 24 fill and gas surcharge vat and that come in at 107....so where there 140 come from??|

the £140 is BOC list price for an argoshield light size Y

from the prices you have quoted there it looks like you got an argoshield light size X hence why the list price is cheaper

the volkszone offer is for a Size Y ( a bigger cylinder than the size X )

Why?

I trying to figure out why 'the man from BOC' would offer this discount on the VW site, and not where they could secure many more sales on "Oh, I don't know, a certain welding site"

See Mr BOC - MIG welding forum......Get your accounts dept to do the sums, then post up a BIG discount exclusive to us.

im not sticking up for them here because i think normally they overcharge and have big fat cat bosses... but.. he did say they were testing the small advert to see if it was popular before advertising further afield.
