New ATV four wheel trailer

Thought I'd stick up a few photos of my new ATV tandem axle four wheeler trailer for hauling timber

All welded up with my 190Amp mig and galvanised afterwards. The tandem axles are pivoted on 1 1/4 round steel pins through brass bushes with stainless washers either side of the pin and secured with a split pin. I also fitted a 360* swivel hitch for added safety on rough ground and slopes. The top half of the stakes are removable as I'm planning on making up a removable flatbed deck at a later date to make it more useful when not needing to haul timber. The headboard at the front is also adjustable forward and rear to allow for different lengths of timber.

Hi, I made it from scratch based on a few designs from large big name ATV equipment manufacturers, but I made it to suit my own en user requirements

I e-mailed the manufacturer of them just after you e-mailed me the link, but to date they have not replied! Seems my business was not important enough for them! Still sourcing them via eBay at the moment, but I'm happy with what i get them for and they are still alot cheaper and superior to the LOGIC version!

Hi, will try and get a vid sometime this week coming if i get time.

We use the Gwaza swivel hitch http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m0Mz2VC5986yYRsa2kBDxRw.jpg

but can't seem to find anyone that does it at a good price, best i've got one for is £39. We get all our pressed steel 50mm hitches from our supplier in Ireland at a great price!

there's a grease nipple on each axle unit so hopefully the grease will keep it all sweet! The bushes are actually Bronze Sintered i think http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p1...Flanged+Bush+1x1-1/4x2+inch/product_info.html

Yeah. I made some thrust washers for our sawbench from round stock brass and funnty things happend a year or so after.

I got the mesh from my local steel supplier. Its just standard weldmesh 2 inch squares.

Yip! have already decided that i want to modify the design a bit more, so instead of spoiling the galvanising on it to weld extras onto it I have decided to move it on and build another one.

I have a habit of dreaming ideas up, making them and then wanting to change it lol!

Pressed steel hitches dont seem to last 5 minutes. The cast ones though pricey and the dogs danglies! Reminds me I need to buyone for my mower!
