fair play, shed bashing with ark, thats going to be a lot of rods

usally use MIG on 1 or 1.2 wire, had to modify an upright on site once with mma

Nice rods, good welding, seat needs a better method of height adjustment and to be more comfortable....

those welds look dreadful, grind out and start again :laughing:

nice drop of welding there :clapping:

, surprised to see so much weld at the haunch web to flange connection, quite often we weld these 100mm one side then 100mm other side staggered. was this specced from engineers details or have you guessed more is better? 10/12mm FW to a 6-8mm web is a bit over the top.
show us a pic of the endplate welds please

how do u know its an 8mm web as its such a deep section-looks @ least a 356mm ? Neat fillets anyway.

a bit of a guess really working from memory but webs of standard weight sections dont really get much beyond 8mm til 457UB
the connection of haunch web to the main section is really only/mainly working in shear therefore hugh welds are generally not needed due to the long total length of welding.

We also only run single fillets of 6mm on webs like that and triple up on the flanges and endplates. Wouldn't fancy stick welding all that as multi-pass! Your shoulders must've been recking at the end of that.
