I've got a regulator on my bottle of coogar 5, but am not sure how best to judge what flow rate to set. The tap just says + and -. Are there any tricks to this, do I need to buy a better regulator?
The reg is probably fine. I like flow gauges (you can read them further away than dials). With tails and stuff should cost you less than £12 inc vat from your local welding supplier.
for the first 19-odd years of welding I used the 'turn it on until you can hear it' method of setting the gas-flow. If you see brown patches around the weld after welding then turn the gas up a bit.
