It's only a little tool, I know, but I couldn't find one anywhere. M14 tapered spindle...
Understandable really, since I guess some idiot would eventually try it on a 11,000 rpm angle grinder and have a nasty accident.
It's strictly for a hand-held electric polisher (0-3000 rpm) using 6" mop wheels allowing speeds of up to 23 meters per second (m/s).
An old M14 wire brush raided for its threaded boss...
Cut the shank off a 1/4" taper spindle from screwfix. Original and modified shown...
After making sure the fit-up was as square as possible; I welded the two together with the TIG using m/s filler on 100amps...
My drill was getting knackered doing these polishing jobs and the die grinder was just too fast for the 6' mops. The tool ended up quite square with run-out being negligible. Haven't had the chance to test drive it yet...
