...Weldequip...that seems a superb price...and looks like the ideal helmet for me as a learner...how long will you be having this deal on for...and if I was to order one could you send it in my wifes name...as the kids are after ideas for me for Crimbo...and that falls within budget...but it would be good if they thought I did not know...you know kids and Christmas suprises...

Q for Weldequip!

I'm very interested in your current reactalight helmet offers - the Parweld and ESAB 10-11. In lay man's terms, what does the extra £40 or so buy you - is there a big difference between the two units, either in terms of performance or comfort, etc.?

EYETECH vs PARWELD

Hi,
The XR914H actually has more features on than the EYETECH 10-11, such as shade adjustment from 9 to 13, sensitivity & delay adjustment. The extra £40 on the ESAB goes on far superior quality Swiss made optics & helmet shell/headband assembly. Theres nothing wrong with the Parweld (I was using one this weekend myself) but if you like quality tools go for the ESAB, they really are a nice unit.
The direct equivalent ESAB model to the Parweld, the Eyetech 9-13, is £159 by the way.

I got the helmet very quickly, unfortunately I've been to busy putting ****e out for the last few days (pig slurry that is) so I've only managed a couple of inches of weld ( an improvement to the slurry tanker) It was good I'll let you know later once I get going.

Where there's muck there's brass eh! Glad you are pleased with the Parweld, they do make the job a hell of a lot easier & quicker. I was welding some steel gates up for a mate at the weekend & used one; it was all day of a job & we were stood in the cold & pi**in rain until fading light, but I reckon we would have been back on the Sunday to finish the job if I was using a conventional mask.

...looks real nice and will be able to try it out properly in a few weeks time when we get to MIG Welding on my Welding course at College... :cool:

Since I started welding again all I've had is the flimsy hand held shield that came with my MIG. I forgotten the HUGE difference it makes using a headshield instead.. furthermore I was truly enlightened to learn (upon receipt of my Parweld from Weldequip) how much better still light reactive headshields are to use.

A quick note of thanks to Weldequip for the super-fast delivery (24hrs & impeccable packaging ;-) of a Parweld helmet. Having only ever used the crappy helmet supplied with the welder, this is a revelation!

Don't have shielding gas yet, so played with it by staring into the kitchen light!! Probably not recommended, but it worked incredibly well nonetheless! Bring on a solar eclipse...

Steve, you're a gent. I would whole heartedly recommend the helmet, and your service to anyone on the forum.
