Been a while between drinks, figured I'd post up my latest project.
Bear with me as I'm copy and pasting from another forum with a few edits.
From when I first started driving it.
Interior was done by previous owner.
Threw in a set of lowered GTS springs into it.
All stayed this way until my other projects took over and it was parked up for about 2yrs. Pulled it out of where I'd parked it and trailered it to the new shed. Looking a little sad and sorry for itself.
Started the teardown pretty quickly. Front panels and interior were out within the day. engine, screen and doors weren't far off
Bit of rust in the scuttle panel and plenum area as usual. But the lack of cancer and repairs to the floor came as a big surprise to me!
Picked up an injected Holden 304 V8 from a mate. Few goodies showed up, like a High Energy sump, Redline Hi-Winder and Holley 670. 202 and box came out, cab came off and dropped the 304 in to check it all cleared.
Continuing on.
Stripped the chassis right down, had it sand blasted and etch primed. Then took to it with KBS Blacktop. Came up good for first time using it.
Picked up a set of Hoppers 300mm brakes. 15x7 3 3/8" BS and 15x10 5" BS Convo Pros (Original, I know) and pretty much how it's sitting now.
Decided to go down the 355 route. So picked up a 355 brand new in pieces off a mate. Scat crank & 5.7" rods, O/S valves, double springs, Crane 272 solid cam etc, etc.
In the process of modifying the sump to fit over the Pavtek girdle, had to chop out the original excuse for a windage tray. So made a new full length tray (Copied the 365 TK built). Will be dropping the sump slightly, adding gates and an external pickup.
