Hi all,
So building a new workshop from what used to be a double garage next to a wooden car port which a previous owner made enclosed. Taking down a brick wall in-between, there are a couple of load bearing beams which need to be supported, so am RSJ going in.
However, with wooden beams on each side, brick wall underneath and existing (EPDM) roof on top, difficult to see the best way to get the beam in. Did think about sliding in from the side, but a really deep soffit means I'd have to take down more of the roof structure than I'd prefer. I think leaves me with taking down the brick wall a few courses and then rebuilding under the steel. Any options I'm missing?
