Thought I would share my latest project that I have just finished, a 600mm throat air planisher using a cheap air chisel.
I used 50mm box for the frame, 40mm box with a length of 1" water pipe rammed inside as the lower die carrier and 4 pieces of 50mm by 10mm flat as the lower die carrier housing.
A length of M24 all thread is used as the adjuster.
Top die is a flush set rivet head from ebay, bottom dies I machined on the lathe apart from the flat one which is a brake disc caliper piston which fits over the die holder.
I am especially chuffed with my home made air foot valve.
I used a £3 blow gun as the air control, a length of 3/8th nylon tubing screws into the end of it.
I then built a frame around it using 40*5mm flat, with a piece of 3mm plate as the top hinged with a 90mm butt hinge.
Works a treat.
