You possibly could but it wouldn't have come from Molsheim !! A brand new one in it's original crate went at auction in the USA for $76,000 !!!

Well , you may consider me to be a mental case for saying this but if I could afford it I wouldn't hesitate for a second in buying one !!

I just love Bugatti's though , proper Bugatti's that is , not these new trinkets.

It has totally sealed construction and is fully adjustable for any wear that may eventually occur and was precision made from the finest materials. Considering they were designed and made in the 30's thats quite impressive.

No , that was a Bugatti car , a type 22 Brescia.

Actually quite cheap for a Bugatti , type 41 Royals have gone for in excess of £10M !!!

Can't get better than Record imo. Ours take daily beatings, and stand up to it perfectly. They look a bit tatty, but the jaws are still good, and function as they should.

Totally agree. I have a Record 6" quick release engineers vice , probably about 25-30 years old , bought at a factory closing sale. Don't know how after being in a factory but it's in great condition and it copes with anything I can throw at it.
I also have a 4" Swinden , revolving head vice , another superb piece of kit which allows work to positioned almost wherever needed. The body of that is cast STEEL !! Fully enclosed internals. Almost never seen on the used market though.

...as long as it's OLD Record stuff; you can still buy new Record vices but they're made from the same mystery metal as everything else from China...

For some strange reason this vice thread made me think that Record vices were made in Italy in Parma till around 1968 and were made of the finest Parma steel . ( or should that be Parmo ?)
