Deleting compressor regulator

I've just finished putting in my new copper piping and larger receiver etc but flow from the compressor to the regulator is rubbish, it just doesn't flow out of the regulator very well and there is a considerable pressure drop when the air line is opened. The flow from the air receiver is fantastic. My pressure switch has a gauge on it and is separate from the compressor regulator so thinking about ditching the regulator. Thought I'd go 1/2 full bore valve and then connect the flexi to the copper piping. I have a filter regulator at the end of the piping so I can control the pressure from there. I can isolate all the sections and easily drain down each section so wondering if anyone has done this and if there are any issues with my plan?

take supply direct from tank and fit-half inch filter regulator -near the end. no loss of volume in the line heres one of my ends

The piping should be at tank pressure if possible.

Thanks. What size is the fitting into the compressor? Did you just tap that or did you buy it?

its a large reducer in tank down to half inch bsp - most compressors have them .some have just blank plugs u can replace with a reducer

Bypassed the compressor regulator and makes a big difference with the output max flow and filling the new extra receiver, well pleased.
