Well I went for the Starrett ones, 150mm and 300mm so we will see how they fare
I am going to order one because I feel left out

I would love one. The Wixey looks good. Displays fractions and millimetres simultaneously.
I have 3 normal digital verniers. A M&W, a Mitutoyo and a generic Chinese. My favourite and the most accurate is the cheap Chinese one. Note my battery conversion. It used to eat them.

I never uses the visual scale so haven't noticed. It is actually more repeatable than my genuine Mitutoyo - and it isn't a cheap one either!I have the same one. I noticed yesterday that the physical scale is 2mm different to the reading on the LCD! I have ordered a cheap copy of the Mitutoyo one now, we will see how good / bad / indifferent it is later.

Millimetres/25.4 = decimal inches
Casio is a common make of calculator. The internet says: "Press, Shift, Mode, 2 to go back to decimal mode. You can also use the S<=>D button to switch been fractions and decimals." Sorry in advance if it is not a Casio.
They arrived today and I think I’m happy with the quality for the price -£178 from Amazon for the pair. Only complaint would be the thumb wheel is a bit sloppy.
You know what you need to doI have just be diagnosed with digital caliper inferiority complex

The ones I linked seem pretty good frankly, at an affordable price. There was even what I think it beant to be a "standard" in the box. Sadly that shows that my Aldi special is every bit as accurate if the rule markings are ignored.I have just be diagnosed with digital caliper inferiority complex
