Beautiful tribute to Nelson Mandela.


Fifty rods of steel, symbolising prison bars, so people will never forget the years Mandela was imprisoned …The remarkable thing about this artwork is that it is only when you stand at a certain distance (which is marked) that you see the intended "picture"

The Sculpture is in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. South Africa. In December 1996 Nelson Mandela was awarded "The Freedom of Howick". This followed his arrest some 34 years before, on 5 August 1962, this sculpture marks 50 years since his arrest.

I have spent years trying to work out how to do this.
Looking at that I think have sussed the theory at least.
