Mini Cooper S Trailer

Here is a project I'm thinking about undertaking. Converting this Mini Cooper S rear end into a trailer. I was contemplating advertising this in the "For Sale" section, unfortunately the rules wouldn't allow it :-( Perhaps I will have to find the time to do it.... or will I? :-)

Wonder how you comply with the trailer regs and the not using car axle bit? (And you can't argue it was made before 1989 can you )

what do you mean not using the car axle bit ?
it has independent suspension like a lot of trailers, not sure on how regs affect it though

I know what you mean, I have been trying to think of a way of making the front more attractive.

Yeah that's another downside of trying this..... bloody regulations :-(

If it was light enough you could go none braked but all brake parts would need removing or you could get done for none functioning brakes. Downside is I bet a mini has a low un braked tow capacity

brakes would be easy to sort out
get a sliding hitch and fit a hydraulic master cylinder behind it, job done

that would be easy enough via a linkage

Yes and it can't be hydraulic. Also don't forget the brakes need to be auto reverse after 1989
