I'd been wanting to make a chunky set of benches & table for the garden..
I got some green oak slabs last summer, and left them stickered up outside until a couple of months ago. (With hindsight I should have left it longer, as has moved quite a bit since I planed it. Ah well, I just tell myself it's supposed to be rustic!).
Legs are made out of 120x60 and 100x50 box, with 6mm flat bar across the top.
Millscale cleaned off (note to self, do this before welding next time!), and little lugs added underneath to locate some black delrin feet.
Was all painted with rattle cans, no idea how well it's going to hold up long term?
Used the CNC router for ply templates, and 3D printer for drill bushings, to accurately locate the inserts in the slabs.
All held together with A4 stainless inserts and bolts.
All in all, pretty pleased with how it's come out. Wife is happy, and that's the main thing! Some things I would do different if I was doing it again, but that seems to be par for the course for me..
