dont normaly bother much as long as there not rusty and painted . got this vice given. 20 years of rust on it but in good nick and no drill holes stripped it down sandblasted the frame and beadblasted the handle and jaws . a coat of acid etch primer and some black smoothrite in a spray can i found in a bin and its good to go . the hardest part was figuring out how the handle was fastened in . took the allen stud out but it made no odds saw something silver in the hole and turned it upside down and whacked it on the bench then ballbearings fell out of the hole and it came out
