A couple of years ago they gave me a press, and it even started up, squirting oil from all the cracks. Then I disassembled it, defecting it and put the press aside for long-term projects. It's working time to!. The press body serves as a large oil tank of approximately 50 liters. I washed it from the inside and found a long crack. I will try to weld it today with TIG soldering, silicon bronze. There is also a crack on the hydraulic pump flange, but the pump is still being washed in an ultrasonic bath. The cylinder needs to be honed from the inside, the large diameter rod needs to be ground and plated with chrome, the small rod needs to be replaced. Remove the cast iron rings on the piston and adapt the piston to modern seals (I will give it to a specialized hydraulics company). Replace the seals of the rod itself with modern ones. Reassemble with old components and measure pressure. If I'm not satisfied, I'll replace the hydraulic pump, distributor and throttle. And probably remove the nasty yellow paint. It can be easily removed with solvent without affecting the original green hammer enamel. I wonder what pressure hydraulic gear pumps developed in those years (max Bar)? The seal of the pump drive shaft is made of cord impregnated with graphite and simply fell apart during disassembly
