i do lots of this sort of job ,,, I wont price it per job , set an hourly rate and work to it ,,, payed a day in advance every day . if they dont like it dont start ,,, may as well sit at home for nothing as work for nothing .
Chrysler 180, you are showing your age! I used to PDi them when I was a yoooth, my only paye job, left at 18 to become self employed, they drove very well but I don't think they lasted long out of warranty...I once had a Chrysler 180 with sills full of beach sand that was less rusty than that.
Customer will just think you are making extra work. Barge pole it.
Was it Leyland had an advert with a sextuplet of Marinas running along the wet sand and one or two were just skimming the incoming tide? Struck me at the time I'd not want to have bought one of those...Running the Jeep through shallow sea water with a special camera at water level, might not have been the best thing for it's later life...
Nothing much wrong with them, really. Just like a stretched Avenger but made of tinfoil (but not as bad as what was coming out of Japan at the time).Chrysler 180, you are showing your age! Paid £50 for it, rings stuck, drove 20 mile in 2nd (mostly due to the shagged box) which fixed that Got a low mile 2l motor from Taronis and did a mix and match.Chrysler 180, you are showing your age! Neighbour at my old house had an ancient Bedford camper van, which had been welded more than a few times over the years. He asked me if I could ‘just fix up those holes around the bottom of the body’.for every inch of hole you see to weld there will be 6 inch. make that 12 you would have to be desperate for work with that one and the punter a real fat wallet . people who want that sort of job doing haven't got two half pennys to rub together

depends on how and who tested it ive seen in the past vehicles pas a test and it didnt even move from where it was leftThats a lot of corrosion since the last MOT?
Here In Pa, we have a pretty rigid inspection system.depends on how and who tested it ive seen in the past vehicles pas a test and it didnt even move from where it was left
I would decide what I deem as fair , say 30 or 35 an hour , and tell that to the customer , start and count the hours , at the end of the day either get the customer to call in , or take a few pics , depending if its a customer I know or a new one . explain the progress and the next step and discuss anything new thats showed up , if it needs more time explain why ,,, once agreed proceed , if the customer is new its cash up front , if its someone I work for they get credit to the end , ,, strangers dont , that has to be a trust thats built up.How would you price it Tom? I see it as a days work to clean up and prep, another day to weld up and paint/stoneguard. I see that as £600 + consumables.
