As the title, I have a motorbike fuel tank that it currently been based and cleared and now flatted down.
The rear section I am going to paint white and use Mipa Vicrom (to create an aluminium look), which then requires clear coat, approximately where the tape is will be a 6mm dark grey stripe/band in basecoat dividing the two colours.
What is the recommended way to do this with the minimum amount of build difference between the various colours.
Should I mask off the front section do the white/Vicrom/clear, then carefully mask the rear section off and build the front section paint thickness to close as I can to the rear, or is that going to cause problems?
Depending on how it all goes, I maybe do the rear section in a slightly matted clear coat and the front yellow section full gloss clear, but may not if it is going to be tricky.
Many thanks.
