I want one and I am suppose to be cutting back on the making of fumes for health reasons...just looks so much fun.

nice one mate, one thing I noticed when I got mine was I didn't have the air pressure high enough so it looked like it was not getting good penetration but was in fact just not pushing the waste away fast enough.
bet your gonna be making alsorts now....

It's surprisingly difficult making a vid for broadcast, and having to talk while you're doing it. This was especially evident when I got confused as to how many air connections and flow meters I had - the video excludes ~20 minutes of me being a kn*b and poking it while trying to figure out what I'd done wrong!
I think I mumbled through a lot of it - I'm sure I could have spoken more clearly and confidently.
Put it this way; it was around 3.5 hours of video condensed to around 20 minutes so that was a lot left on the virtual cutting room floor
And to RichieW - it was shot on a GoPro which is, I'm told, what all the cool kids are using

Just watched the whole vid all the way through for the first time and couldn't believe how cold it was - did you see the vapour as I breathed and talked?

Nice first go SkotL, and nice toy for making more noisy mess
DoubleBoost uses a camera mount which I think makes his videos more enjoyable. Changing the framing quickly and easily, makes detail shots easier to obtain, and since the microphone is built into the camera, it also makes it easier to capture what you are saying. I would say it is not you mumbling, just the microphone placement in relation to you.

thanks for posting this up ive been considering getting a plasma cutter for a while now just couldnt make my up weather to get the cut 40 or the cut 50 as i need to use it only with normal 13 amp plug on it
query how thick metal can it cut using normal pluged in mains

Get the 50, mine is on a 13amp plug, never had a problem, thickest I have cut is 16mm plate but you will get slag on the rear, clean cut up to 8mm

a further question then i have seen 2 sorts of cut 50 one is analogue the other is digital in the video but which one is better and i presume the one in the vid was ordered from abroad ?
the ones i can get are analogue not digital cut 50 plasma cutter
if abroad id be more worried if i actually got it and if it would work or not ebay does have its advantages with paypal but its not always garanteed either

usage i would get would be cutting some metal up into the shapes i need instead of using grinder also sometimes i needed to cut rounds out of plate steel for the wood burners and that would mean more casual usage than full usage
the types of steel to be cut would be mixed between 2mm up to 10mm max i think ss would be 3mm up to 6mm
thats the type of usage id use so the cost of a high powered one wouldnt benefit me hell ive walked away from a hypertherm max 50 ( old type ) plasma cutter in the last 2 months was even going for 100.00 at the time at that but research stated it would cost too much if needed to be repaired at all

May I ask what size compressor you are using? I want to get a Cut 50 to cut up 10mm EN8 plate but I only have a 2hp, 7.5cfm 24litre compressor. It's incredibly noisy so I don't want it to run all the time. Should I budget for a larger compressor or at least a bigger reservoir?
