I have an old sureweld monomig 101 the wire is not feeding through. The weld wire can slide through its casing but does not move. Sure the little motor has gone. Can I buy a new feed motor.
Hello and welcome to the Forum !
Even though the wire does not feed, can you strike an arc at the tip of the MIG wire against a piece of scrap steel held in the workpiece clamp? Please do this test at all positions of the power selector switches.
( I'm making these suggestions because power for the wirefeed motor is taken from the main welder DC output, via the speed control. If the welder does not arc, there will be no power for the motor either. The flap switches that select power levels often stick or burn inside and lose contact. The feed motors actually seldom fail.)
Disconnect motor and power off a battery.
If it doesn't turn, wack motor with an object to see if it's just brushes.
A jolt should get it to start.
DO they persist as short brush length means commutator damage.
