Welding stainless and making it look good

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie on here, so sorry if this has been covered before. I have been trying to weld stainless and make my welds look like the ones in the pictures attached but cant get them to look as good. can some one suggest any tips or tell me what tig settings would be best?
i am using a LTS wsme200 TIG

How long have you been tig welding?
Those welds will probably have been done by someone with many years of experience and who does them day in, day out.
Best post some pics up of your own attempts so our expert tig welders can point you in the right direction.

It's not your machine at fault, it's your lack of experience and I don't mean that in a rude way.
Looks like you're doing pretty well to be honest, your welds certainly aren't ugly by any stretch of the imagination!
Don't get too hung up about making welds look 'text book' pretty, you should be more concerned about them being sound and air tight.

Seems to do everything it should.
And occasionally I can bang out a niece weld

I have just bought a new torch for it with an ergonomic handle and a nicer button. And it's much more comfortable to use compared to the standard torch.

The only thing I really don;t like is the pulsing doesn't go high enough.

yea i can relate to the torch, for me it was too big! i use a wp9 with a flex neck, gas lens now, makes it much nicer! I just got my machine but didn't get a manual with it. i have noticed that allot of brands call there function different names making it confusing to such for on the net and get an idea of what all these nobs do

Sorry, there is no magic button you can press to make yours look as good as those.
Just keep practising and don't be afraid to ask questions on here, there's some very skilled tig welders on here who'll be only too glad to assist you.

Hi the wsme200 has it but my other tig, the one that i used for all the work in the pictures hasn't got pulse.

Those welds have been done by walking the cup, lots of youtube videos. Its very easy to get good looking welds as you rest the ceramic on the work piece and walk it along so you always get the same size ripples and you dont need to prop your hand, but the flex head wont be very good for it

watching that guy was what got me into tig welding his like the tig genius

I started at uni so continuing now and need more practice but for the weld quality on certain jobs like bumpers its good.

Make a lovely looking weld on the outside and then use the stick weld part for all the heavy stuff on the inside that cant be seen

Those sort of welds come with practice, practise and more practice, oh and you need to practice
