Has anyone used a national company lately for a workshop purchase or for materials to build one, my area appears to be a nightmare for ready built prices or finding decent cladding to build my own, even with delivery charges I suspect I could beat the ready built prices or match them but with a much superior item.
With the constant rain this year, coupled with the fact the wet car is put in my workshop every day has proven to make the area feel cold and damp at all times, heating the whole place just to work at a bench for an hour or so does not make a lot of sense, I don't spend hours manufacturing anymore and what I do is usually small scale and at the bench.
A smaller wooden workshop is a much nicer environment to work in and so much easier to control the heat and humidity, it would only be 2 metres from the larger workshop so any serious welding would still be done there.
The plan is for something similar to the one in the photo, obviously with stronger floor bearers and improved window design, the cladding though is what I am intending to use, sealed with a quality preservative.
This will be a spring time project if I go ahead but always good to pre plan and this forum often comes up with suggestions that have not been considered.
The one shown is £765, not a bad price actually but too low, I am 6'3" and don't want to feel I have to constantly stoop when walking about.
It's going to be a 'shed for life' and never be moved so build once and build right scenario.
