1/2 impact wrench with 1/4 compressor

Just a quick question almost all of the couplings on most sites are 1/4 which is also whats on my compressor.

How can I connect a 1/2 impact wrench, are the plug ends all a standard size regardless of thread ?

I had a nightmare in my previous thread with the coupling which after some great advice from members I solved, so I now am only using genuine pcl xf plugs and couplings

yep 1/2" refers to the drive size mate

u can but that impact gun is crap look at the spec on it . u want something round the 600ft lb mark to be of any use

Was just using the cheapo gun as example, will mainly just be for light car & bike maintenance, removing wheel nuts, changing discs pads etc

it dosent tell u the maximum torque of the gun that's the important bit

£43 is a good price too, expected it to be more

There's no danger of a decent 1/2" rattle gun doing its utmost through a 1/4" feed, it can't get enough air through the pipe.

Best off going straight off the reciever on your compressor , there is usually a blanking plug plug on one end , fit a decent filter / regulator there and come off with 10 MM hose like in that screwfix link above , a few drops of airline oil down the tool inlet before you use it each time as well .

for ease of use I got the Clarke CEW1000 mains gun which is reasonable at 450nm and I don't have to bother with the compressor

better than my cheapo Sealey sa/2 air gun

i have that gun too and it is much more powerful than any of my air guns to be honest and cheaper too!
