150 Litre or 200 Litre Compressor

Looking to get a new compressor for the plasma as well as use for other workshop items.

BUT the local supplier can only source the 150L unit for a decent price and the larger 200L unit is going to be £340 more !!!

Obviously stuck on the Isle of Man you don't have a great deal of choice, I could order via internet and get it delivered for £100 but I tend to prefer getting big stuff locally in case it goes wrong.

So would people reckon to stick locally to get the 150 or internet for the 200l ??

Get the 150, it's not going to make any difference to the pressure or the volume of air, it will just affect the interval between the pump. switching off and on.

If you really need more volume you can add another tank later,

Some one said to me that there is no point having a big one if you cant keep it up.
Yes we are talking about compressors its the cfm that you need most cases more than litres size of tank.
If you have a small pump on a large tank most of the time it just can not keep the pressure up.
I only use my 75lt compressor with my plasma and it keeps up no problem.

The cfm, cap/fad, pressure and hp ratings are the same for the two compressors = (15cfm (430l/min) | 10.cfm (280l/min) FAD and 10 bar with a 2.2KW engine.

The actual compressor unit is the same, just the tank is different and online the price difference is about £50 but at my local suppliers its £350.

The only thing I can think is that the 150l unit is supplied as a stock item whereas the 200l is a special order item and so would cost them more to source and get delivered.
