16 Amp RCBO for welder

I appreciate that this type of subject has been done to death but essentially this is a slightly different question.

After having an extension done to the house, I had the consumer unit replaced with a new Hager unit with all RCBOs.

I currently have one spare way in the board at the far end (furthest from the main switch).

The on-site guide and other textbooks show consumer units with the breakers in descending amperage as you move away from the main switch but is this just best practice ??

I don't really want to go to all the hassle of having about half of the rcbos on the consumer unit shifted over by one way to fit in a 16amp rcbo in the middle of the board when there is space for it at the end.

Thoughts / recommendations ??

don't worry about it. i normally put the big stuff nearest the main fuse but that's just a habit thing. the buss bar will be capable of taking full ratted current any where along its length

Cheers for that MK, thought it was the case that it was just a best practice / neatness sort of thing but couldn't find any specific regulations stating that they had to be in order as I couldnt see any benefit.

In fact the way I see it, you have a crowded area of the consumer unit with the 2 t&e cables entering for all the ring mains, and then the other side of the unit has only one t&e cable for the radials.
