1m air line...

Hi guys, I just made a reel for my air hose and now need a shorter, maybe 1m long hose to attach it to the compressor. I can't find any air hoses under 5m. Can I make it myself? Or does anyone know where I could buy one?

Search for whip hose.
Not a problem to make it yourself. Just get the right fittings for the internal diameter of the hose.

just use jubily clips if its flexible hose with barb fittings https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=barb+fittings+for+tubing

Jubilee clips are fine provided you get a reasonable quality. The cheap ones just rotate before they get tight.

Those 2 ear clamps were always called Oetiker clamps or clips, Excellent piece of kit, Same firm also made the tool,It resembled pincers with longish handles.

well search t' net for OOOOOOOOOOOOOO's for Oetiker coz O is easier to say than Oeitiker the best pliers to use are the cv boot ones that push the 'ears' flat as they clamp.

if youre fearful of jubilee clips (i agree - some are great, but some are useless) then have a look for t-bolt clamps.

you need to get them in the right size, as you get much less adjustment than with a jubilee clip, but theyre great for higher tension.

I was given a Knipex Sytem Oetiker 1099 crimping tool which is nice to use, the crimping jaws don't meet so you cannot accidentally cut through the clamp ears as the steel is very soft. Removal is easy using the other pair of jaws by taking a couple of bites across the crimp to cut the ears off.

Cut a piece of airline, soften it in hot water and insert fitting then secure with a genuine jubilee clip. Can't get much simpler or buy a coiled air line as the tend to be cheaper than a whip line. Lateral thought maybe?
