2 post wiring?

Having purchased a brand new 2 post lift using single phase,as I intended to use domestic mains,as that was only available in my workshop at the time. I've now moved into a bigger unit which has a 3 phase supply since the lift is based on 220v single phase,I had to have an interlock single phase socket wired in. I will be having an approved installer to install the lift. I do recall him saying that he is not qualified to do the electrics. So,I'd be grateful if someone can explain the wiring. It has 3 core wiring

And,I can't understand why it's just got an 'up' button,I was expecting a 'down' button aswell.

its just live neutral and earth 240v in to the plug. if its a hydraulic lift u only need one button to power the pump to lift it up and theres probably a lever valve on the hydraulic side to let the ramp down under its own weight

Assuming this was a blue "commando" type socket, you need a matching plug and connect the following

Brown - L (live)
Blue - N (neutral)
Green/Yellow - E (earth)

@brightspark,thanks for lever valve info,I'll check out for that when being installed.
@Robotstar5,yes it is the 16 amp commando type. I'll look inside the plug,probably self explanatory. Just need to know if the wire goes to L1 or D1 etc

The photo isn't 100% clear, but;

Supply to L1, L3
Motor to D1, D2

as said just open the plug up and there will be 3 contacts. L,N and E

blue is N, brown is L and yellow/green is E

Thanks Luke. Yes,the phone is crap for photos nokia n8. I still have my Nokia w995,takes superb photos,should use that really.

The earth location is obvious,I need to look at the wire colour coding again,my photos are dreadful

I was hoping to be able to edit my original post to attach clearer photos,can't see if it's feasible.
Anyway,although my query has been answered,hear they are

Hopefully this can serve some use to others who require such advise. As this is a brand new lift,I can only recommend a qualified installer to install (columns fixed to floor,arms etc) brand new lifts. If anything does go pear shaped,at least you'll be covered throughout the warranty.

its always advisable to get things installed properly if you are going to be using them for customer work whether it be paid or unpaid favours, but for personal use I just go ahead and do it myself. as long as im happy it is solid that's all that matters.

@brokenbiker,I was dithering to do it myself. But,a fella in the same industrial estate mentioned to me (as we were talking about my lift,and I mentioned where I bought it from) about the seller,as he bought a 4 post lift. It became defective. He rang the seller,the seller (allegedly) said the ramp is for home use not garage. In other words,it's not suppose to go up and down frequently
