3/4" sockets set

Hi everyone I've recently got a 3/4" impact.
At the moment I need it for once in a year jobs
For example I would have needed it to disassemble my brother Vito wheel hubs for replacing the bearings.
And obviously I'm not set up for that so it cost 600 euro because we commissioned the job to a third person ( both wheel bearings, new brakes and rotors) who did a nice job overall.
I'd like to be able to do it myself.
And to have the ability to break loose everything I might find on my path.
As I have friends with tractors, excavators or just even off-road trucks.
Back to the topic
I've had a discount for a KS Tools sockets set like this one below

And it would cost me essentially just as much as a cheap 3/4" set but wich claims impact rated sockets like this one below

Wich in addition has more sockets allowing me to get to an Iveco Daily wheel hub (65mm)
Those sockets have the hole for a pin and an OR groove which the KS Tools don't as they are simple chrome sockets no impact rated.
Said that we use cheap chrome sockets at work with the air impact everyday and we never break one, I'm always afraid about one would explode in my face thought.
For 100 euro what would you pick up?
Remember very occasional use but happened many times to need one through the years

The cheap 3/4 impact set will be just fine, I use my 3/4 USPRO impact set at work on 3/4 air impacts all the time, plus the set also has the weird sizes like 26/28 etc, there is no denying they are not as good a fit/quality as say snap on.

Well off course I'm not using them everyday and that's why I'm more of the idea of getting the cheap set as I get two needs solved at once
1 Impact sockets for the 3/4" Makita clone
2 sockets and ratchet set for bigger fasteners ( my cold saw has a 46mm nut holding the blade in place)
Or break loose things otherwise you're not able to

I bought a cheap set years ago and only bent the sliding socket bar with abuse.....
then I was gifted another set for free......
Just a shame they dont all come in a metal box.....
The set of mine in a plastic box which has died because of the weight and UV light.....now need to make a sheet bender so as to make a new box.....hahaha....more tools....
Mine get used for tractor and fork lift repairs....plus the occaisional use as press tooling .....

First ask yourself - do you REALLY need a SET.?
Can you not identify which sizes you commonly need as impact sockets and simply buy those as individual items.?
You'd be surprised how many sockets in a socket set are never actually used.

Press tooling is another task it will come in handy.
Yes the plastic box is a real shame, not that much of a problem as I can use a metal toolbox or make a custom one.
Sliding bars are mostly useless even brand name ones bend pretty easy, they are not supposed to be used with a pipe but at this point they should make them thicker and longer as you really don't apply any force with a 40cm long handle.
At least not enough for the size of fasteners you're dealing with.
A meter long breaker bar will arrive in the future too.

Definitely get black impact sockets. I had been using my 1/2" impact (Makita DTW300) with chrome Bahco sockets for site work (to minimize the amount of stuff to be carried in) and it wallows out the female squares. I've recently bought a set of 1/2" impact sockets. The impact sockets work fine with handtools, ratchets, etc.
For my 3/4" impact (DTW1001), I've always had impact sockets in the sizes I usually use. Someone used a newish 36mm chrome socket (Facom) for a job lasting a couple of hours (and maybe 4x5ah Makita batteries) and it looked like it had seen a decade of hard use afterward.

Really need a set? No I'd need maybe 5 or 6 main sizes

Why 18mm?
I've destroyed a Parkside impact trying to get a Ford Fiesta wheel nut loose
A 2 meter long pipe on a Tee handle managed to remove it but we made the wheel spin on ground before to get it loose.
I only need the sockets really.
Above the sockets that actually never been used I only count the 20 and 23 mm till now I've never had to use them.
All the others I have, get used enough frequently especially if working on Fiat Cars because they are built in a way that you can completely disassemble them using sockets only.
This means that for example to remove the gearbox from my car you need
14-16-17-deep and shallow 18-19mm sockets plus accessories because of the tight spots and the need for various bolt head sizes even if they might have the same thread pitches.
You never really know if you a specific size .
25-26-28-29 are missing on my half inch set

I have a 250 or 300Nm and a DTW700 clone then the 3/4" Makita clone on delivery.
I'm using cheap Parkside chrome sockets on the 1/2" because it's what I have, definitely need impact socket for them too.
Your reply has been really exhaustive because I didn't know about the square drive getting damaged and I personally like my cheap Parkside sets I own (SK tools not KS Tools branded sockets )
And they're not made by SK anymore unfortunately and for the paid price they are one of my best investment ever done

I usually know when to stop but sometimes it's inevitable to get something I should avoid.

If you have got a 3/4 impact, it makes sense to get the impact sockets.

I doubt they are CRMo for the price, so basically just the CRV chrome sockets without the chrome coating - but the quality of those cheap 3/4 sockets is pretty good thesedays, and they are big enough to be pretty robust. I wouldn't pay big money for a 3/4 socket, I doubt you would get the value from it.

I've got a chrome set, but then my impact is only 1/2" so I just keep some oversize 1/2" drive impact axle sockets which covers my needs.
