Can anyone tell me exactly what things I need to wire my 3 phase comp(3 HP).also if there is a diagram, that would be most helpful.
what do you mean wire it? do you want to put a plug on it? or wire it into a dedicated breaker? or just rewire the machine itself?
Yes a 3 phase supply and need to hardwire it properly with a breaker....and do you have a 3 phase supply?
Ok what would i need for that then?I'd suggest not messing round with it if you need to hardwire things in, and get a sparky to come and sort it out for you. I'd suggest installing it on a ceeform myself, so that if you need to replace it in the future, it's a bit easier, plus a 3-phase socket is always handy if you have other equipment.
The plate on the motor says 240/415v so does that mean it can run 240 aswell.Ok whatthat to would i need for that then?
Ok cheers folks.not going to mess really, the old man is going to wire it as he used to wire all the machinery at work so he is used to 3 phase.it will be 3 phase dual voltage 240 - 415v .as u allready have 415v uhesill run it on high voltage .the 240v will only be needed if u run it on an 3 phase inverter which u dont need . the link diagram will be inside conection box on motor
