3ft initial pinch rolls

It was almost a year ago when I bought these rolls and they've been "resting" ever since.
I'm a bit slack at the moment so I thought I'd pass the time cleaning them up and I will probably end selling them. Surprisingly everything came undone easily and and the bearing blocks after I removed some solidified grease have turned out to be brass.
The investigation continues…..

yes I think most are brass / bronze. I should recommend you keep hold of them if you have the space as they don't eat nothing! Seriously unless your into ducting or something you wont use them a lot but when you need them you need them, tools like this cost mega bucks new today and are hard to find quick second hand.

The pair I did a while back do very little but like I say " when you need them you need them". Just find a corner for them to go once you have them sorted

I have 3 sets of rolls already. I didn't go looking for this set, they found me.

I got them cleaned up today with one of those cup wire brushes that fit on a small grinder.
The phone has rang twice today so it looks like I'm back to busy next week. Primer tomorrow, top coat Thursday.

After the cup brush a coat of "Traditional Red Oxide'", enhanced by the artistic hue of the dawn sun.


Now what do I have in stock for the top coat?

oh heck half my stuff get left red oxide with a mental note " must get round to that" for selling bright red or black

It's looking more valuable every minute.

Yes I know. I payed £750 for my Edwards, although they are a 3" roller.
Trouble is, people want to be given stuff nowadays, on eBay in particular.

On the subject of a box & pan, if your looking for a smallish one I recommend a Sahinler.
Industrial build quality but home workshop size. Mines 4'x16g but is adjustable for thickness so copes with
much thicker at shorter lengths. Sprung units at the side so no massive counterbalance arms, and foot
operated sheet clamping so both hands free to hold material. All this gives it a very small footprint.
If you've loads of room (and money) ignore this and get an eight foot Keetona.

Interesting do you have to source of these things?
Yes at present small but the work is really comming in at present, so I might be down the planning office in 2016? Like trains and busses though so not counting chickens

I also do work for a variety of customers so move in several engineering circles.
My Sahinler for instance came from a chap who repaired and raced rally cars, Mexico's, that sort of thing.
When I went to look at it I took with me some sheet. Bit of ally, steel, and stainless etc.
I started to turn a few screws and he asked me what I was doing. "Setting up the bend rad and material thickness"
I said. "Never knew you could do that" he replied.
No wonder he had bought it but wanted to sell it on. A snip at £500. They were £1200 new.

It boils my wee to see rollers with a load of half crowns in them.
