Hi, anybody use these? I am looking at model 546605 9100FX. It has the flip up part for grinding as well as welding. I would need it for MMA, TIG, MIG.
thanks, Nivag
Keeps you cool as well as stopping the fumes etc. You can get different filters for different substances.
You wear it for a while then when you come to take it off you realise how warm it is outside and how much the hot air smells !
I had a 9100XX helmet before so I bought the FX with the smallest lense (X?) and swapped them over. I now just use the 9100X if I'm doing a couple of tacks, anything more than that I go for the Adflo.
I would say they're a bit bulkier but you soon get used to it.
I also bought (well the misses bought me for Xmas ) a specific grinding shield that used the same adflo pack.
Have to say all this stuff cost more than the war, but I felt it was a good investment in my working comfort and future health. Once you see how much crap gets caught in the filter (especially if you spend a few hours grinding) and realise that otherwise that would have been in you lungs I feel it was money well spent.
I've got a 9002? adflo, 9-13 etc, and can only recommend the adflo system it does the job. The lid itself disappoints,Its heavy, different shades from one side of the lens to the other, poor head band and the refusal of the lid to stay in the up position which infuriates me! I have another speedglass 10+ years old and its my go to lid so there not all bad and the model your looking at in newer. Try before you buy. Myself, the next one won't be Speedglas.
