Is that magnifying lens a proprietary configuration that only 3M has; or is it a standardized size such as a 2.00 inch x 4.25 inch magnifying lens?

The reason why I ask is because their magnifying lenses are not offered in a 1.00 Diopter.

I don't see 1.0 diopter listed on the 3M site and, for that matter, BOC, CIG and Unimig don't list 1.0 diopter either. ESAB, Miller and Lincoln do if you can find someone who stocks it.

They seem to be a standard size, I don't have any official 3M lenses but I did have to get the optional 3M lens holder.

I'm in the uk. I've got one if you can't find one but you should be able to get hold of it easily enough from any 3m dealer

Try searching the 3mm site with 17 10 20, or 171 020 or something.
You might have to try keywords rather than part numbers or just browse the categories..

All the 3m sites seem to have a lot of stuff that doesn't come up on the search.

Sometimes it's something like things are supplied in packs of 10 and the pack has a different part number.
Any 3m dealer will be able to tell you what local availability is.

Thanks for the tip. I did search for various key words and then browsed by category with no result.

In the end, they are a standard item and whatever I need, I can get pretty much anywhere. It was only curiosity that drove the search.
