all the above should be fine! Lincoln rods I don't see round here (might be to do with them being made outside the EU?) Murex and ESAB are now the same firm, cant get old type Murex round here now unless its old stock and have gone over to ESAB very good rods if you have problems with these its not the rod brand for sure
Right esab it is , so far I've came across ok 46.00 and ok 46.30 has anyone used these before what differences are there and why is 46.00 so much more expensive
whats the proper name of the bohler 6013 , im finding all sorts of different names. Could you also reccomend a 6010 and a 7018 and any other that are common rods. just curious to give it a go with different rods.
yeah i was looking at them , seemed decent price and theres some good reviews , just seems every welder uses something different :P what do you use for 6010 and 7018 ?
my favourite 6013 rods are fincord m and i use lincoln fleeteeld 5p+ in 6010. they are pretty much my go to rods. i csn post u a couple of each for free if u wanna try before you go out and buy any, as 6010 rods dont run on every welder.
As for OK 46 or OK 46:30 I dunno and not sure if I ever did from those new type codes you will have to ask them to look it up (one of my local dealers only knows the silly OK codes and gives me a blank look then comes out with clever comments like he knows what he is talking about which I doubt so this makes life sort of hard for me) anyhow I cant stand the guy and as a result only shop there when pressed, like when I am over that way and need something urgent. What I do know is the OK 46: 30 is a 6013 all positional with the exception of v down Ac or DC positive electrode.
ESAB Ok 48 is the 7018 DC positive or negative electrode all position again not v down.
Another recommendation for Oerlikon fincord m. Local hardware shop calls them 'the farmers rod' as they are so easy to use. Best way to use them seems to be to drag the rod along the root of the weld pool.
