8016s / 7018s - info needed!

problem is im used to 6013s but ive got about 30kgs of about 10 years old rods and i dont have a clue what there for and how to use them (if there still useable) ive got the following:

murex vacpac welding electrodes
hi-trex 8016-g
2.5 x350 mm
lot: 8383543
dc+/-,ac (ocv 55v)
75-90 A

and:

filarc 76s e7018-g


they are both read directly from the boxes but i have lots of different sizes in the same spec, so are they still useable (thay are all still brand new and sealed but about 10 yrs old), and what are they used for (low penetretion, high penetration???) btw i only have an ac buzz box so can they be used on that? sorry but i dont have a clue

i know nowt about 8016's except thet are stronger than 7018's if i remember correctly, the 60 in 6013's stands for 60 ton tensile strength, the 70 in 7018's is 70 tons etc etc.
7018's are low hydrogen rods, hydrogen in a weld can cause cracking. so 7018's are indeal for welds that need higher strength. But to use them they must be dry, or they just dont weld nice. So first thing is baw put the 7018's in the oven at about 150 degrees for an hour or so. my preference with them is to use them hot, ie directly from the quiver.
As regarding the 80's i would think snowy would be the most knowledgable on those.

We are using Filarc lo-hy's in work at the moment and they seem to be a very nice rod to use. But i think they might be 35s....don't really know the difference.

They are designed for quite extreme applications such as offshore but you can use them wherever you use your 6013s. Its a sledgehammer to crack a nut and they will be more difficult to use but if you can get on with them they will be fine.

If the welds show porosity (due to their age) you can bake them at 150 oC for a hour.

Try them on your buzz box they will probably work but if not they wont harm it.
