I think it's also another way of saying " I'm extremely jealous of your talent, but because I can't do it I'm going try and put you down to make myself feel better" also often used by 12 year old girls.

Either way, I'm pretty impressed by a few spoons getting stuck together and wish that I had just a fraction of his skill and imagination.
