@selectedgrub supply of materials is now a bit patchy (really low on old nuts & bolts now :-( )

@snoozer yes, clear lacquer, usually from Aldi or Lidl, I just pick up a couple of tins whenever I spot them.

If anyone is interested in the flowers, I can’t take full credit for them, the flower head components came from f h brundles, I assembled them and welded to some “bark effect” m/s bar.
Base is a gear (very tough steel, m42 bandsaw wouldn’t touch it) from a tractor and some copper earthing rods brazed on then bent/shaped.

I don't know anything about welding but I am interested in learning some knowledge for a small project later this spring. I just started searching around when I came about this site, thread and had to register to say I really love your turtles and giraffe.
