The steel half has 'projections' which are bonded into holes in the wooden half.

We are all showing our age now, but what a great programme

I’ve often fancied making something from wood and metal but had slight concerns about wood shrinkage , about the most I have done is birds wit a wooden base, I’ll try to get a picture later but self isolating at the moment.

Most of the stuff I've done is made up from lots of thinner wood sections glued together so should be quite stable hopefully....

I asked my London landlady, who is an artist, for a project where I can get my two daughters welding. She's asked for a pair of armatures of Guinness Toucans. Originally she only wanted one, but that would be a Onecan

So solid bill, but space frame body, probably welding rod as per previous armatures I've made for her. Should be fun.
