A tiny voice from tiny Singapore

Hi all.... this is Sawit.

Taking up welding as a hobby and got myself a GYS Inverter 3200.
I am old school.... do not think MIG or TIG is for me.
Anyway, there is something rustic about stick welding.
Old fashion but yet wicked.

For experience, I have only burnt maybe 8 or 10 sticks of electrodes.
I have questions to ask.... some are dumb.... most are very dumb.

Hi,
I lived in Singapore for 5 years (but didn't do any welding there - probably a law against it!)

Saw lots of it in Sembawang Shipyard repairing all the damage we used to do to our ships.

I don't think we have a member from Singapore. What's like to live there, most people say its a beautiful place: but over run with rules and regulations.

I wish we had a law banning chewing gum

Hi Chief,

Singapore is a hot and humid place.
The heat gets to our brains and we go around like zombies.
The rules are there to keep us in line. Ha ha haa..

Actually, Singapore is an okay place.
The people are generally well behaved.
Public facilities are reliable.
You don't get harassed by the authorities over nothing.

The strict rules are there because we still have inconsiderate people around.
Some Singaporeans just need to grow up a bit.

However, I was born and raised here.... my views could be a little bit biased.

If you come for a visit, bring plenty money.
Plenty of hardware shops around.

I heard about the shops. Very unlikely I'll ever find myself there. However I do like the rigid rules.

I can never understand why people drive in to the country: presumably to enjoy the views, only to chuck all their rubbish out the damn window
