A tree

I have been mad busy for ages on a big project that I cant go public on.
But was asked to make a wintery windblown tree. Just the ticket, for ages I have been doing accurate fiddly repetitive work.
So four frenzied days later I ended up with this. it stands 3m tall and the crown unbolts for transit and storage.

The bottom is a simple tapered spiral shape and the crown is all made up of edge bent 5mm strip, 15mm at the top and 30mm at the bottom. All bent using the metalcraft powerbender.
I was very pleased to manage to get a chaotic shape as I am trying to get over my hopeless fixation on repetition and symetry. Thanks to Normspanners for the music.
He sent me a copy of an unobtainable album by a band called Pleasure Beach, perfect an unholy blend of prog riffs, hammond Organ with a bit of New york punk spirit mixed in.
Life here is getting very hectic, house to sell, house to buy, workshop to find 'other people' to 'deal with' doing this was great therapy.

next Job? a two M tall stilletto shoe.

We followed a trailer down the M1 with a bright red stiletto about 3 metres tall and once we were on the A38 following a massive Cadbury cream egg and I was not hallucinating honest.

It didn't have the straps on it but the general idea was like that and on a larger scale. Like this without the wheels and taller. Nice tree by the way Chunko, make a nice bird feeder

I was given this as a sample

I have never looked at stilletoes before. It is a beautiful thing, I was stunned, as a so called artist I could study it. yep one of the most beautiful things I have ever looked at.
I now have two options, take it around town and see who it fits, that was plan A, estranged wifey pointed out the hairy chested tranny in town. Yep it would fit him. So I leave it carefully discarded in my front room knowing that everybody who walks in will see it and go 'erm'.

About 25 or more years ago when I was a wage slave I made a pair of shoes similar to that in mirror polished stainless steel, never met the customer just given a shoe and told to use it as a guide, roll forward to last December and someone came it to buy one of my stainless roses, got talking to him and it turns out to be the same person, coincidence or what.. the ones I made were taken in a break in at his shop years ago, He is now retired but said that they were always a point of interest amongst his customers and he's asked me to make some more when I have time, so its on my list of fill in jobs for this spring, there will be pictures when I do them.
