ABAC and FIAC compressors

Hi there,

Looking buy an industrial compressor and have come across ABAC and FIAC. There is a lot of information online about ABAC compressors, but not a lot on FIAC ones. Can anyone comment on buying an ABAC or FIAC compressor?

I've owned a 3hp 200l abac for about 8 years now and never had a single bit of trouble from it. Its the easiest starting compressor I've ever seen aswell, no matter how cold it is.

I have a 150l Fiac, 15 years old still works fine, but to be honest I thought most compressors used the same motors etc - mine doesn't look very much different from the same sized Clarke / sealey etc

I've just bought a 200l abac, and have used an old 270l fiac at an old work, both reasonably quiet (mine more than the fiac as it was a big one!), both good specs. The disc had never had an issue bah servicing.

I've had a FIAC for 10+ years, v-twin direct drive 3.5kw, probably make it one of the smaller ones. Bought it to go with my plasma, has done everything else I've asked from it since including spraying a few cars. Can't comment on after sales, parts or repairs as has never needed anything
